Our Goats

What started out as a small project, GREW!

What was originally supposed to be a small project for Casey in 4-H, grew into a endeavor that has brought us much enjoyment.  We started with Pygmy goats because of their small size and interesting personalities, but later we bred for a bit larger goat. In 2006 we sold off all the Pygmy's and kept Beauty, a Kinder goat that we bred and raised. later we finally found a buck that we liked, nice personality and matching size to Beauty. His name is Maximus, and he is a purebred French Alpine.

We look forward to what these two produce.....

We had to start somewhere.

Pip is the very Pygmy doe that got Casey SO interested in goats. Pip is Beauty's mother.

Then came our Nubian Buck.

Zippy was a great find. He was a purebred Nubian from an extremely milky line. Zippy is Beauty's father.

Beauty, the name says it all.

Beauty was as good as her mother Pip in the show ring. Here is Beauty the last year that Casey showed here in So. Dakota.

Beauty enjoying winter.

Beauty is not only enjoying winter, but she is expecting.

Here is Maximus.

It took us awhile to find just the right buck for Beauty. We are very pleased with Maximus, he is kind and not to big.

Maximus want a treat?

Who would have thought that Maximus liked peppermints SO much!

Beauty and Maximus had TWINS!

While we were doing chores on 2/27, Casey & I noticed that Beauty wasn't with the rest of her pen friends. After a closer look, we decided to bring her in the barn because we felt she was getting close to having her kids.  She was REALLY close in fact, and two hours later gave borth to TWINS! One boy and one girl.
